Dear William,

I can hardly believe you are nine. To me you still seem like that happy, sweet baby I watched grow during the first year. You’ve changed so quickly in your nine years. You were pretty darn cute as a baby. This picture is proof that Jordan adored you…

The next picture is proof that you had Wild Elvis Hair. We had almost two inches cut off of that do just a few weeks before this photo was taken…and you were only 4 months old here!

You were a blue icing mess at your first birthday…we put you and your friend, Dylan, outside in your highchairs for the cake smashing.

And it was a good thing we did…

This is the photo your Grandma McDermitt loved. It was documented proof that your hair had turned to a more blonde color like your Daddy’s hair. That made her so happy that she left a funny message on our answering machine saying how she adored you. She also said she was glad you looked like a McDermitt in the photo…and I took that as a compliment. ;-)

And then you turned into a little man only a year and a half later…not sure we got many photos in between because you were such a speed demon.

You played T-Ball and that was the beginning of your love of sports…

And then there was the Buzz Lightyear phase – here you are with a happy sticky face after a snocone…

You became a “big” brother around that same time period…and you’ve taken that role seriously. So sweet with Grace here…

And now you are nine. Nine. I can’t believe what a fine young man you’ve become. I love being your mother more each day.
Happy Birthday Week William!
Love,
Mom
Sniff, sniff, smile…more birthday fun to come…
