Blissdom 2011
I am very excited to have the chance to join in a gathering of creative online professionals who are developing all kinds of exciting ideas – this time in Nashville, Tennessee at the Opryland Conference Center. The Blissdom Conference is an opportunity to learn new tools and techniques and brainstorm with great talents in the industry. I suspect the rooms will be filled with 80% women and I am just fine with that. The energy at the BlogHer conference was full of female entrepreneurs and it was electrifying. So many great opportunities come out of these friendships. The plain truth is that the room is filled with individuals who have lived their business dreams while raising families and the realities of live. It’s quite inspiring to those of us with a houseful of lively children.
That’s me I guess. The one with a houseful of lively children.
Boy, are they ever full of life!
I’ve been blogging for over six years. The content on the internet has grown exponentially since that time. What once was an outlet for a technical person in the midst of family changes has now become a more concentrated focus for me. I’ll have to be honest, Atlanta is filled with many of the ‘blog superstars’ you’ve seen quoted in traditional media as experts. I’ve been privileged to become acquainted with many of these excellent writers and instead of calling them my competitors I can enjoy their friendships.
Not sure if you’ve noticed how the blogging phenomenon his filtered into the mainstream media. Finally advertisers are recognizing the power of the female, both in households and in the marketplace. I suppose you could say that media is finally recognizing what you and I have known all along. In addition, blogging has become a powerful way to spread positive ideas and causes. A personal story told with integrity means so much – and that support has become necessary as our extended families stretch longer distances.
I’ll try to share some of the fun with you while I attend. It’s good for you to know what’s coming down the line and into your households. This applies to the technology front as well as products. I am looking forward to getting my hands on some of the products and giving you my honest opinion.
