WHAT’S THAT? YOU MISSED ME? I’m here…still recovering, but here. July  is one of our birthday months for the family. When Grace made her entrance 7 years ago she choose a date which was two days before her father’s birthdate. This usually means that my poor husband gets to celebrate his birthdate with the elementary school set. He always does so with a smile.

This time of year is a birthdate of sorts for me, also. When Grace was born we had a huge emergency and I actually lost so much blood that my heart stopped. I suppose you could say that July 21st was a rebirth for me. That date never passes without some deep thoughts and a thankful prayer. The song “Live like you were dying” came out that summer and I can remember liking it before having Grace. After I began to function I could hardly hear those lyrics without tearing. It’s hard to believe that was seven years ago.

We had a fun weekend with our family celebrating…my family came in from Alabama and since Dave’s father lives nearby he got caught in my party planning machine. He made some cook table display pieces from an apple tree he had been saving in his wood stash. Grace and I had decided on an owl theme a while back and I began using Pinterest (Remember my addiction to Pinterest?) to capture ideas for the party. As usual, I didn’t get all my ideas executed, but it was so great to have an idea sheet handy. Here’s what my “Grace’s 7th Birthday Party” board looked like:

And this is how the party turned out:

Happy 7th Birthday Grace!

Check back later – I may be adding more photos to this page as I edit them.
