Wordless Wednesday: When I Grow Up
WE WERE GETTING READY FOR BED LAST NIGHT. Grace had delayed her summer bedtime as long as possible. She had just finished showing me a dance routine, teeth-brushing took a good 10 minutes, and there were a million questions. I knew how late it was getting and my end of the day fatigue almost made me miss the note on her bed. I walked over to clear her bed and then saw the note titled “When I grow UP” with a list of six items. I stopped in my tracks and smiled.
Grace turns seven years old this month. I guess she is beginning to think ahead. After we read the list together I pinned it up on her bulletin board. She said, “I didn’t know if it belonged up there or not.”
Of course it belongs somewhere special my dear. Sleep tight my little dreamer. I hope you get everything on your magical list.
When I Grow UP
I want to own a pony!
I want to be a mom.
I want to have kids.
I want to have a husband.
I want to be a good college stutuent [student].
I want to have good grades.
