Best Spots for a Summer Picnic Around Atlanta #savvysource
MY MOST RECENT SAVVY SOURCE ARTICLE DISCUSSES PICNIC LOCATION IDEAS IN ATLANTA. Honestly, it was difficult to narrow down the list. Of course there are the standard spots everyone uses, but I took a look at the parks and hidden gems, too. With this crazy temperature streak I looked for shade. That was one of my top criteria. You can laugh, but you won’t be laughing long if the spot you want to sit in all afternoon is 110 degrees.
Picnics involve some prior planning. It’s something I haven’t perfected. Sometimes…just sometimes…I find a great day, bring some good healthy nibbles, and get a moment ‘right’. Go ahead an buy some foods you can throw together in a hurry. The kids will be shocked and amazed. That’s a good reaction in the summertime!
Where do you like to picnic? Any hints about how to keep the kids entertained in the heat?

I have never been the eat out doors type, but this past memorial day, the family and I headed out to peidmont park for the ATL Jazz Fest and for the first time ever I packed a picnic. My son was so excited. I packed cherries, grapes, crackers, sandwich meat, fruit snacks, string cheese, water and juice boxes. If was perfect.
I found this little quiet park (Old Whittier Park) nearby my house that I also plan to have an evening picnic, its also very close to the playground. this will be fun
