Dumplings and snow days

LAST SUNDAY IT SNOWED. On Monday it iced. We live in the South. The whole city of Atlanta owns just 10 snowplows. Needless to say, our roads were not pretreated properly or cleared in time to prevent most of them from being a sheet of ice. Normally this is not a problem. We do have snow days in the South, but they are followed a day or so later by sunny 50 degree weather which melts it all away. More >

YESTERDAY WAS THE LAST DAY TO ENJOY THE KIDS and the limited schedule before they headed back to school and I returned to my “normal” schedule. Welcome New Year

MY FIRST POST OF 2011 finds me sipping coffee and listening to the strains of Cinderella’s theme song from my six year old’s bedroom. Tomorrow morning will be quite different since it marks the end of our holiday break together. You’ll find us bundled and awaiting the bus early tomorrow morning. Today is our one last day to play.
