It teaches logical thinking in an age where that is not emphasized. And honestly, where does a kid learn to handle a knife properly or an emergency? We hardly let anyone carry a pocket knife these days and our grandfathers had one handy at all times to do chores and tasks quickly. Thanks for the encouragement Stacie! I agree.
